Linen And Wool… And The Law?

There is a verse in the Bible, instruction given about not mixing wool and linen together. “You are not to wear a woven mixture, wool and linen together.”(Deuteronomy 22:11) I’ve been wondering for years about it. You can find all sorts of explanations on line about the frequency inside different fabric, it’s pretty fascinating really - what if the clothing we wear is affecting us as we move about our lives day to day?
Is it possible God gave us something easy to do (choosing our garments) that might affect our health for good? It’s fair to say He did this with other areas in our life, for example what we can safely eat, or how to interact with our neighbors. Does this mixed threads law still apply today? Did it ever apply to us at all? How I wish there were a few more verses to go on!
I don’t follow this rule of mixed threads perfectly. But I must admit I am trying to more and more. If there is benefit to my health then why not? if there is benefit from being “set apart” and having people ask me questions then why not? And certainly if there is a blessing for obedience then…. Why not?
How about you? Do you struggle with this passage? Follow it to the letter? Are you convinced it doesn’t apply? Curious to try?
Let me know, I’d love to hear your experience.
